Supporting Veterans - Every Day

We are proud to be a Veteran Friendly Accredited GP practice—supporting our veteran community every day, not just 11th November.

What Does This Mean for You?

As a Veteran Friendly Practice, we:

  • Ask and record veteran status in your medical record (with your consent).
  • Provide priority treatment for conditions related to military service, subject to clinical need.
  • Have a dedicated Veterans’ Clinical Lead trained in veteran health issues.
  • Refer to specialist services, including:
    • Op COURAGE – NHS mental health and wellbeing service for veterans.
    • Combat Stress, Help for Heroes, and other charities.
  • Support families and carers affected by service-related health conditions.

Who is a Veteran?

A veteran is anyone who has served at least one day in the UK Armed Forces (Regular or Reserve). This includes Royal Navy, Army, RAF, and certain Merchant Navy roles supporting the Armed Forces.

How to Let Us Know You’re a Veteran

Please inform our reception team or your GP. This helps us ensure you receive the right care and access to specialist services.

Why This Matters

There are 1.74 million veterans in England, and research shows many struggle in silence with physical or mental health issues because they fear not being understood. Our accreditation sends a clear message: you will be understood and supported here.
