Have Your Say

At East Bank Medical Centre, we want to hear from the people who use our services.

Our Patient Participation Group (PPG) gives patients the opportunity to share feedback, suggest ideas and help shape the services we provide. By working together, we can make sure the practice continues to meet the needs of our community.

Members meet with practice staff approximately every three months to discuss patient experiences, service developments and ways we can improve.

You don't need any special experience to join – just a willingness to share your views and help represent other patients.

We are keen to hear from patients of all ages and backgrounds, particularly parents of young children, working-age adults and younger patients whose voices are often under-represented.

What We've Been Discussing

Here’s a little round‑up of the topics we covered together:

  • πŸ’› Hub Appointments
Most patients are happy to use the hubs, but it can be tricky for those who don’t drive—especially on dark evenings.

  • πŸ“± Text Message Errors
Some appointment reminders haven’t been getting through. This may be contributing to our higher DNA (Did Not Attend) rates. A potential fix is now available on our homepage, and our Reception Manager continues to report any issues directly to the provider.

  • 🩺 Booking Appointments
Our new Accurx Total Triage system is proving really helpful, and patients are receiving quick responses from clinicians.

  • πŸ–ΌοΈ Out‑of‑Date Posters in Reception
These have now been removed, and we’ll be keeping everything refreshed with a monthly review.

  • πŸ’Š Pharmacy First
Things are much better now that pharmacies can prescribe antibiotics.

  • πŸ“² NHS App Appointments
We’re aware that appointments aren’t showing in the NHS App. A fix is currently being worked on.

Thank you to all patients who contributed their views and suggestions.
