Save the NHS money

Reduce the NHS spend on patient communications - messages sent via the NHS App are free of charge.

Make sure you have notifications turned on in the NHS App and all messages will be in the same place, from us, and any other service you may be under.

Messages from us will come through as NHS App push notifications which are free!
However, a backup text message is sent to you if:

  • You don't have the NHS App 
  • You have Notifications off 
  • The Message is not read

This costs the NHS a LOT of money. Please see below for how to turn on notifications and the rest of the page for help in setting up the NHS App if you don't already have it

Turn on Notifications

Online services allow you to:

  • Book and manage appointments
  • Order repeat prescriptions and nominate a pharmacy where you would like to collect them
  • Contact us using our online form and get a reply through the App
  • View and manage hospital and other healthcare appointments
  • View useful links your doctor or health professional has shared with you
  • View your NHS number
  • Use NHS 111 online to answer questions and get instant advice or medical help near you
  • View your GP health record to see information like your allergies, medicines & test results
  • Register your organ donation decision
  • Choose how the NHS uses your data
